Symposium Agenda

Great progress continues to be made in the reduction of aircraft noise around airports. The quieting of aircraft engines and implementation of noise mitigation programs have been two major contributors to this success. Each year, thousands of individuals living in communities that surround airports benefit from these programs. Every program is unique and often creates challenges for those responsible for implementation.

Each strategy for noise mitigation — sound insulation, land acquisition, land use planning and re-zoning — needs to be carefully evaluated. The Airport Noise Mitigation Symposium brings together all of the key players—the FAA, airports, community groups, consultants and manufacturers — and creates a forum for these groups to share their collective experiences and ideas on maximizing the benefits of noise mitigation.
