The 15th Annual Airport Noise Mitigation Symposium will be held October 7-9, 2015 in Los Angeles, CA. This symposium is presented by the Airport Noise Mitigation Symposium (ANMS) Planning Committee and the American Association of Airport Executives (AAAE). We'd also like to thank Los Angeles World Airports for hosting this year's event.
The number of aircraft operations in the National Airspace System is on the rise, and larger, more sound-intensive aircraft are being added to airline fleets each year. This, in combination with a growing library of information on the negative impact of aircraft noise on communities and individuals, makes noise mitigation one of the most pressing topics in the aviation industry today. However, each opportunity for substantial noise mitigation, whether it is sound insulation, land acquisition, land use planning, re-zoning, aircraft performance, etc., also comes with significant challenges. This conference will bring together the most knowledgeable experts in the field to share ideas and best practices in order to help airports overcome these challenges.
For more than a decade, the Airport Noise Mitigation Symposium has brought together industry partners, FAA, airports, community groups, consultants and manufacturers to share their collective knowledge, experience and ideas on maximizing the benefits of noise mitigation. Due to the efforts of these dedicated professionals, measurable reductions of aircraft noise in the vicinity of airports have been achieved. The quieting of aircraft engines and the sound insulation of homes have been two major contributors to this success.
Join your colleagues this year in Hollywood to discuss the latest information and trends regarding these successful applications and work to develop the next major innovation in aviation noise mitigation.
